We are launching our annual One Night Without A Bed campaign on November 28th via livestream and, NEW THIS YEAR, in-person at The Eastern in Detroit. This day, we challenge people to give up their beds for One Night in solidarity with the 4.2 million young people around the world who experience homelessness each year

Our goal is to raise awareness on the youth homelessness crisis and raise funds so that we may continue to provide young people with critical resources, safety, and support during a time where our services are needed now more than ever.

Participants can sleep in a tent, a car, the couch —anywhere but a bed. Make themselves uncomfortable for One Night, challenge their friends to do the same, and spread the word so that a young person can have a warm place to sleep at night and access to the resources that they need to live out their full potential.

Our virtual sleepout cannot compare to the grim realities that youth experiencing homelessness face every day. This is not a simulation— it is a call to action. This is about basic human rights, accountability, and service. Together, we can send a message to these young people — who have so often been ignored — that we care and continue to be committed to equity and justice.

Take the challenge & challenge others to commit

Create a post on your social media page letting people know that you're committing to sleeping-out with Detroit Phoenix Center on Giving Tuesday or any other day in December to support youth in need. Tag three friends and challenge them to commit to sleeping out and donate as well.

Want to include our official "I'm Sleeping Out" graphic in your post? You can download it below! Print it out and post a selfie picture with it. Let people know why you're making a commitment to breaking the cycle of poverty and youth homelessness.

Team Up!

Join our efforts to provide critical resources, safety, and support to youth experiencing homelessness in Detroit by creating a team on our fundraising site and challenge others to donate and raise funds with you. The teams or individuals that raise the most for Detroit Phoenix Center will receive a swag bag of items and experiences donated by local businesses from the Detroit area.
